The brief for WeWork One Central was to have contemporary artworks for a modern coworking space, as well as to engage users with work by regional artists.
Four Dots, working along with the WeWork team, developed a package comprising textile, photography, and commissioned paintings. The objective was to display artworks that complemented the fun, communal and contemporary aesthetic of the space, but did not detract from its nature as a workplace.
The art collection includes original work from artists based in UAE and internationally. Some key pieces include Aljoud Lootah’s Hand woven carpet showcasing Arabic patterns, Sheikh portraits from Trevor de Pattenden made using a stippling technique, Yusef Alahmad’s skateboards and Wissam Shawkat’s limited edition artworks both based on Arabic calligraphy.
